Summary

A leading asset management company seeks an operations analyst in securities trade support. The Securities trade support team is responsible for all the aspects of operational processing from Trade Capture, affirmation, messaging to agents, settlements and confirmation.

Responsibilities

Repo Trade Processing
- Collecting trade tickets
- Checking tickets for correct details, and against the Repo System, booking, and confirming the trades.
- Manually creating repo closeout instructions for any partially closed trades, and instructing to the custodian
- Chasing unmatched and Fails

Fixed Income and Equity Trade Processing
- Daily monitoring of unmatched and Fails reports
- Actively chasing CP’s for their SSI’s and matching instructions
- Highlighting any aged Fails to the team Manager and the repo desk in case of any segregated or long-only funds.
- Monitoring Block and Allocation levels across OMGEO CTM.
- Creating weekly Fails reports for internal audit purposes
- Raising any trade discrepancies to trading
- Booking dummy trades in Bloomberg in order to check accrued interest, and in case our static is incorrect raising this to Data
- Dealing with Factored Bonds and understanding the calculation and details any custodian would need in order to process a trade
- Sending settlement amendments to custodians as appropriate, via Fax, email or Swift MT599
- Monitoring the trade flow in Charles River from start to finish, including any necessary SSI enrichments
- Getting new Broker SSI’s set up in the SSI Database
- Ability to implement improvement processes and controls to support the business
- Checking Commission, tax and security fees are correctly booked on Equity trades
- Posting Witholding tax for trades on an ad-hoc basis
- Active cash management
- Extensive liaison with other internal areas such as Front office and Finance, as well as numerous external parties such as Prime Brokers and Custodians

Experience / Skills

- Good academic background
- 1 – 2 years relevant experience
- Excellent communication skills are a must, liaison with internal and external parties at all levels, therefore confidence in dealing with people is required
- Understanding of the life cycle of a Bond Transaction.
- Demonstrating a positive and enthusiastic attitude at all times.
- Ability to prioritise work depending on urgency, calculating risk impacts and knock-on effects
- Good sense of structuring the workload in order to keep deadlines and deal with all incoming queries in various forms
- Demonstrating a Pro-active attitude at all times
- Commitment to the firm

- Good interaction with other departments and “thinking outside the box”
- Excellent attention to details is key
