Summary

A leading asset management company is looking for an IT analyst to join their IT team reporting to the Head of Development.

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, the successful candidate will be working closely in a group of 3 within an 8 man highly skilled Infrastructure team which also includes support and SQL Database Administrators working to ITIL best practices.

Responsibilities

Primary duties will include the support and full project life cycle (assisting design and implementation) of the company’s Wintel Physical and Virtual server infrastructure.
The current architecture comprising primarily HP hardware with NetApp storage, Brocade fibre switches and Cisco network infrastructure, spanning Production, Development and DR with HA requirements.

The role also requires support of several vendor systems, email archiving and communications solutions such as Exchange, Blackberry and working with the DBA and development teams on server performance, provisioning and recovery.

This is a technical role with a need for user interaction, so good interpersonal skills are essential. Checklists and an ITIL system based knowledge bank provide structure and documentation for all aspects of the role.

Experience / Skills

Experience and skills required:

- To be successful in this role, candidates will be detail oriented, able to follow procedures and processes.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and verbal, preferably educated to degree level in a numerate, scientific or computing discipline.
- They will have several years’ experience and a good technical infrastructure background including implementing and working with:

• VMware ESX Server 3.x or vSphere v4 (Enterprise production systems)
• NetApp storage appliance experience essential (current)
• Microsoft Server products (windows Server 2003/2008)
• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008 (Infrastructure)
• VMware SRM (Site recovery Manager)

The following skills would also be beneficial:

• Microsoft Exchange 2007 / 2010
• Scripting (e.g. Bash/Cygwin)
• Cisco Networking exposure
• ITIL (Foundation or can demonstrate clear familiarity)
• Finance sector experience or similarly demanding environment.

They will be clear and effective communicator, able to act effectively both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with call tracking and change management systems and processes would be viewed positively.
