Summary

A Tier One Investment Bank is looking for a client valuations analyst to work within the Client Valuations Group,a global centralised team, within Operations, responsible for the production and dissemination of mark to market (MTM) valuations (OTC derivatives, bonds, structured and unstructured debt securities) for the Bank's institutional clients, ensuring full compliance with the Global Client Valuation Policy. The Client Valuations Group is responsible for sending all valuations to clients and ensuring that records of valuations sent are maintained.

CVG are the first point of contact for clients for valuation related queries and are responsible for managing the relationships of clients, both internal and external. The team adhere to the Bank's Valuation policy and need to ensure that valuations provided to clients are consistent with this policy.

Responsibilities

Preparing and sending client valuation statements for a range of OTC derivatives and bonds.

· Responsible for the creating timely and accurate valuation statements at client/sales desk request.

· Sourcing the appropriate marks from the respective trading desks, establishing a process with each for the most efficient way for price sourcing.

· Understanding of market conditions and impact to MTM.

· Creating and distributing the client valuation statement to the client, including the appropriate legal disclaimers

· Providing excellent client service regarding their pricing inquiries, account maintenance and portfolio.

· Building strong relationships with clients, business partners, whilst managing expectations.

· Liaising with Trading, Sales and Product Control to source valuation data and resolve client queries.

· Monitoring all price amendments and ensuring all price adjustments have followed the proper controls in place.

· Contributing to the requirements specification and testing for improvements of systems used.

· Upholding the controls and procedures for the team, review and update as necessary.

· Enforcing the Bank’s policy on the provision of client valuation data.

Experience / Skills


Qualification / Education Required:

· Educated to degree (or equivalent) level.

Qualification / Education Preferred:

· Any relevant banking exams.

Experience Required:

· Relevant industry experience.
· Experience of working to tight deadlines in a high pressured environment.
· Product knowledge of any one of OTC derivatives, bonds or structured and unstructured debt.

Experience Preferred:

· Experience working within Middle Office, client facing role or a Client Valuations group.

Skills / Aptitude Required:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Product knowledge of either; Derivatives, FX, FI Cash or Equities
· Highly numerate with excellent analytical problem-solving ability.
· Ability to challenge existing processes and provide ideas for enhancements.
· Proficient in MS Excel, vlookup/macro’s
· Able to work effectively to meet deadlines whilst under pressure.
· Understanding of the control environment and escalation requirements.
· Confidence to deal with both external and internal clients.
· Attention to detail.
· Pro-active approach to problem solving, role improvement and small project work.
· Team player.

Skills / Aptitude Preferred:

· Access database skills.
· Advanced Excel to VBA level
