Summary

Assist the Client Liaison Group to ensure all new business requests raised by the Front Office or Relationships Managers are properly vetted and processed within an agreed time period. Client Liaison Assistant Managers are expected to work closely with the Client Liaison Managers and other departments (Front Office, RMs, CRM) and COBAM functions (KYC, Documentation Negotiation, Account Maintenance, Credit Services).

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance to the business in terms of flow on-boarding requests and all related issues
• Resolve on-boarding problems as they arise.
• Manage requests to completion, ensuring the client is on-boarded in a timely manner
• Take ownership of on-boarding problems as they arise working closely with all COBAM functions to ensure bottlenecks are resolved in a efficient and timely manner
• Adhering to all service level agreements at all times
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
• Develop and manage business relationships with Front Office, RMs, Operations and clients
• Liaise with external clients to facilitate a smooth on-boarding process and ensure a positive client experience
• Work closely with all client on-boarding functions to develop and vet new business requests in an efficient and timely manner

Experience / Skills

• Solid, proven relevant work experience (supporting relationship managers, sales or working in an operational middle office or client facing support function), within the banking / financial services industry. [For Complex Pipe Representative, strong focus on fund managers, hedge funds and complex products are essential.]
• Business and product knowledge (Global Markets) and awareness for identification of simple and complex deal structures.
• Sufficient understanding of Credit needed to access a client’s credit quality against the risk proposed to ensure requests will be acceptable to Credit Approval. Sufficient detailed understanding of documentation requirements and local and international requirements.
• Detailed understanding of KYC knowledge in the broader context of AML/KYC/Client Identification process, including MIFID and Legal Capacity Checking.
• Detailed understanding of Account Opening / Account Maintenance with sufficient knowledge to navigate internal and third party systems as the vetting process must be completed quickly.
• Solid client service skills.
• Excellent communication. This role requires an individual to demonstrate an “Extrovert” personality type at times, who will need to be in constant communication with other units (Front Office, RMs and Credit) and the Business Development teams. Consistent feedback and guidance to interested parties regarding requests is necessary for adequate pipeline management and to increase group communication to minimize pipeline bottlenecks and other obstructions. The ability to create and maintain good relationships Group-wide.
• Strong Leadership, strong inter-personal skills and the ability to handle conflict and manage expectations. Demonstrate high energy; be a very proactive self starter and extremely positive.
